Local Organizing Committee
Community Participants are the most powerful tool in promoting the National Team’s goal and objectives. - Create a Board of Directors to develop a plan of action for the Local Organizing Committee in implementing the USENT educational policies and practices.
- Appoint a lead agency to coordinate all the Local Organizing Committee’s operations.
- Have direct contact with their local School District.
- Develop Community Partnerships with local colleges, businesses, and community service organizations.
- Conduct twice yearly meetings with the School District and the local community.
- Prepare an annual report in the month of May on the progress of their objectives and projects towards meeting the National Team‘s educational standards.
Qualifications for appointment:
- Must have an active educational initiative targeted for the local community.
- Must be willing to follow the leadership of the USENT and complete the requested assignments in an orderly and congenial manner to ensure the success of the Local Organizing Committee.
- Must be committed to develop communications between schools, students, their parents and community leaders for improving both academics and social standards.
- Must have staff member support. Some programs and services may require volunteers to set-up and organize programs for the Local Organizing Committee.
National Team Supporters are:
- Corporate Sponsors that work with the USENT to promote its goals and objectives.
- Corporate Sponsors selected will be needed to provide financial support to organize, promote, manage and cover the cost for the meals at the local forum sites. Sponsorships will be limited to 12 National title sponsors and 24 local co-sponsors who have a common interest in the campaign message and who have shown a commitment towards reaching-out to the target population. Each of the sponsors will also be asked to provide in-kind services by participating in the multi-media public awareness campaign and during selected forums as a moderator.
- Community Partners for up to 5-years, with option of being extended another 5 years by the Local Organizing Committee with the approval of the USENT.
- Community Partners that may apply for grants for selected programs and services under the USENT, and be a part of any USENT member’s special projects.
Local National Team Supporters are:
- Community Partners that work with the Local Organizing Committee to implement programs and services in their local communities.
- Local Organizing Committees’ select local organizations and sponsors as a part their chapter, and participate as National Team Supporters for that chapter only. For example, they can promote themselves as National Team Supporters of the New York Chapter of the USENT, as a Community Partner. However, they cannot promote themselves as National Team Supporters outside the State of New York.
